Cultivating Educator Excellence: A Shared Responsibility to Mentorship and Development of Nurse Anesthesia Educators (1 MAC Ed CE)

Faculty development in nurse anesthesia education often lacks structure, leaving new and mid-career educators to navigate teaching with limited guidance. This session presents an evidence-based, practical resource designed to support continuous development through mentorship, peer support, and structured pathways. Central to this approach is the idea that educator development is not a solo pursuit but a shared responsibility. Established faculty are positioned not just as content experts, but as mentors and role models who actively shape the next generation of nurse educators. In doing so, they strengthen their own leadership skills, contribute to a supportive academic culture, and find renewed purpose in their professional roles. The session also highlights how academic leadership, and institutional systems can reinforce this culture of shared ownership. Participants will explore mentor/mentee relationship components, engage with real-world case strategies, and leave with practical tools to implement, lead, and sustain mentoring within their programs.
